8 Fashion Ideas: What to Wear to a Work Holiday Party 2019

By Ace Prado on December 12, 2019

December is here, and you know what that means: company holiday parties! What are you planning to wear on that day? If you don’t know, I’m here to help you out.

Whether you work in an office, hospital, school, or somewhere else, your attire needs to look good on the company’s name while still looking chic. It is important to dress up to make an impression on your boss, colleagues, and possibly a lover too. Don’t forget to show your personality in this type of setting because it is definitely not a typical day at work. So, do not let this opportunity slide.

In the search of finding outfits, I’ve broken down exactly eight outfit ideas of what people should wear at the Christmas party. From sparkly dresses to rhinestone heels to matching sets, there is an outfit for everyone.

Outfits:

1.  Blazer Dresses and Boots:

Every woman loves a match set especially professor Delores Umbridge in the film “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” but not all sets can fit everyone’s body type. This winter, media outlets, Instagram influencers, and fashion magazines are telling everyone to ditch the pants and wear the blazer as a dress. This structured party look is flirty and will catch everyone’s attention in the room.

How to Style: Pair it up with over-the-knee high boots and statement accessories

2. Velvet Dress or Jumpsuit

Velvet dresses and jumpsuits are always known to be statement pieces. Don’t forget these pieces needs to be fitted and tailored to your body. Can you imagine walking down the staircase in Hogwarts wearing a velvet jumpsuit to the Yule Ball in Hogwarts? You never know Cedric Diggory or Viktor Krum might ask for your cell phone number. The trending color schemes for velvet are red, burgundy, emerald green, and black.

How to Style: Neutral chunky heels, clutch bag, and statement jewelry

3. Sweater and Textured pants

Not everyone wants to be covered in velvet and sequins because some may be allergic to certain fabrics. Remember not all people look good in sequins and velvet. Another easy outfit is selecting slim textured leggings (sequins, pleather, velvet) and an oversized sweater. If a dress or jumpsuit is a lot of work, this easy style could be another option. Definitely Hermione Granger will probably give dirty facial expressions in potions class if she is the jealous type.

Print and Textiles:

4. Metallic Sheens:

If you don’t want to wear glitter or velvet you can always add some spark to an outfit by wearing metallic. Certain fabrics can shine “bright like a diamond” when the light catches them at the right angles in the room.

@ciaradohtery is an Irish fashion influencer who is rocking an emerald green metallic sheen dress. She paired the outfit up with silver statement jewelry and open toe skinny heels.

 5. Glitter and Sparkles:

Sparkly dresses, jumpsuits, rompers, and heels are always known to be statement pieces. It is a classic statement piece too.

6.  Sheer:

From choosing a cami, lace bralette, or tube top under a sheer blouse, this fashion trend is attractive especially for holiday dinners or evening events. There are different types of silhouettes and textures and everything will be confusing at the end.

Accessories:

7.  Statement Earrings

Women love jewelry, and there are so many different types of jewelry for every outfit. But just remember not all outfits need statement earrings.

8.  Embellished Headbands

Another holiday accessory that is making headlines in red carpet events and social media is headbands. Some of them are embellished with rhinestones and colorful jewels. Wearing an embellished headband with a sheer blouse are goals. We might as well get dressed like Audrey Hepburn and be in the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

Happy holidays!
