Most notably, businesses are known to start and develop in North Charleston. This city region is also growing rapidly due to a great location in the metropolitan area and is now home to over 100,000 people. The town limits are also rich in history and developed culture.

Taco Boy, the restaurant’s persona, invites you to stop by and enjoy great tacos. Stay and drink tasty happy hour beverages at this local chain restaurant. Taco Boy Restaurant sponsors The Green Heart Project, a farm-to-school program that helps students build skills for a better future.

For the seven days of the week, the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., while the bar stays open until midnight. “Skip Siesta, Let’s Fiesta” sounds like a good plan to me. Visit one of their two locations in Charleston and enjoy yummy tacos and margs.

H.L. Hunley

True to its historic value, North Charleston is the home to the submarine that made history and created a mystery on the same day.

On February 17, 1864, the H.L. Hunley was the first submarine in history to sink an enemy ship. During the American Civil War, the USS Housatonic sailed toward Charleston with a premeditated agenda to block the port city. Nine crewmen sailed out in the Hunley and were able to successfully torpedo the Housatonic. However, the submarine never made it back to land.

Friends of the Hunley is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the H.L. Hunley complete her historic journey home. The Friends of the Hunley organization is dedicated to recovering the remains of the brave men who gave their lives and honor them with the proper burial that they earned; to solving the mystery of that first ever submarine attack in 1864; and to conserving one of the greatest, most sought-after artifacts in the history of naval warfare.
