Where To Snag A Last-Minute Virtual Internship For The Summer

By Victoria Robertson on May 11, 2015

It’s finally that time of year: we’re warm, we’re happy and we couldn’t be more ready to get out of school and go enjoy life. Or, maybe you’re like me and can’t keep yourself from working, even when you have a break.

But hey, we’ve still got a little more time, so for all you procrastinators that have decided you need to gain some experience during your time off, here are five last-minute virtual internships you’ll want to snag up before the summer starts.

1. Uloop:

Yes, that’s right. Uloop is always seeking new writers for its sites, and campuses across the nation could use your help in their branches. If you’re a college student that loves to write and needs to gain publishing experience as well as learn about the world of virtual media, this is the internship for you.

Writers complete weekly writing assignments, have incredible connections perfect for those willing to network and can even get published on The Huffington Post!

You can always apply on the site, as new writers are a welcome addition. So don’t wait, get that experience you need in a few keystrokes!

2. Puppy Forge:

Love animals? Right, who doesn’t? The Puppy Project is looking for interns year round (part-time) to help individual breeders not only find the site, but educate them so they want to sell their puppies through the site.

If you’re interested in working with animals or just want to gain some marketing/sales experience, this is the perfect virtual internship for you. Oh, and did I mention it’s paid?

The job is completely virtual, and the job is simple enough: talk to potential clients and try to educate them about the Puppy Project. It doesn’t get much easier, and for a part-time, paid summer job, you can’t really beat this.

3. Exchange Network LLC:

If you have an interest in fashion and don’t mind putting in a few hours for an unpaid internship, this is the job for you.

The fashion company, called Her Exchange, is looking for a PR intern as well as a Non-Profit Management Intern. The internship promises coffee runs aren’t a requirement, unless you’re craving that Starbucks, and rather focuses on helping you build up a resume and get a job in the future. While the job can be done on location, there is also the option to work virtually (if you don’t live in the area) and work with Skype and lots of e-mails.

Who knows where you’ll end up? Her Exchange interns have a higher chance of full-time employment later on, so don’t wait in putting in your application! The deadline is quickly approaching, as this virtual internship begins June 1.

4. Drink The Water LLC:

If you have an interest in graphic design and are waiting for the perfect, virtual internship opening, this is your chance.

Drink the Water LLC is looking for a graphic design intern to do their thing, designing corporate pages, creating custom ads and developing layouts for marketing materials.

While the internship is unpaid, and to apply you need to have at least some experience with basic designing programs, such as InDesign, this is an internship that will give you experience working in a fast-paced environment, all while you sit in your pajamas on the computer. Not too bad, right?

With a typical assignment schedule of three to five days, the freedom to interpret and the ability to get as creative as you know you can be, this is the graphic designer’s dream internship.

5. Tours4Mobile:

Finally, for all you tourism majors out there, don’t think I’m leaving you out. Tours4Mobile is looking for a marketing intern to help fact check and participate in local tours.

This job isn’t completely virtual, as you will need to participate in a tour, but you can pick one that’s most convenient for you and, best of all, this internship is paid.

While tourism majors will be required to do quite a bit of travelling for their careers, this is the perfect job to help get you started, and what better way to get your foot in the door than with an internship with which you are marketing as well as evaluating effective tourism techniques involved in specific tours you’ve taken part in?

However, you don’t need to be a tourism major to apply. Most majors are welcome, so long as the applicant is hard working and excited about all things tours.

Internships are the best way to get experience before getting into your field following graduation, and there’s no better time to start working than now. Plus, all these internships can be done from the comfort of your own home.

I mean really, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss out on. Find more virtual internships here.
