Jamberry Nails, a Relief from the Nail Salon
Heading to the nail salon to receive a manicure or pedicure is a fun thing to do with girl friends. It gives you bonding time, gossip time and it can take a toll on your wallet. Why do we spend so much on getting our nails done? A variety of reasons: you have an unsteady hand, your polish always chips, or maybe because you simply it is a fun thing to do with friends, and you don’t want to be left out of the group.
However, a solution is coming to relieve all of your ails. Jamberry Nails was started when three sisters decided they didn’t want to make the expensive trip to the nail salon any more, but still wanted to keep their nails looking polished and professional. Jamberry consists of a line of nail wraps which launched in 2010, as a DIY and at-home application process, the cost is relatively cheap, with most designs costing just around $15.00.
Additionally, these nail-wrap manicures are expected to last up to two weeks for fingernails and four weeks for toenails.
Application seems pretty simple as well, with the steps being:
1. Clean unpolished nail with rubbing alcohol and push back cuticles.
2. Match nail with the wrap that fits the size the best.
3. Peel off nail wrap and warm with a blowdryer for 3-5 seconds or until flexible.
4. When warm, press nail wrap down on nail firmly especially around the edges to ensure adhesiveness. Use rubber cuticle pusher to seal the wrap at the base of the cuticle.
5. Apply heat and pressure to the nail again to completely bond it.
